How Nonprofits Should Approach Mobile Strategy

Recently, I had the opportunity to join Michael Sabat from @Mssg on his Podcast, “The Chat Bubble.” I was able to give my perspective as a mobile strategy expert who has experience as both a client and now a consultant. At nonprofits like Planned Parenthood and Vote.org I was given the opportunity to build mobile (SMS) programs and oversaw tremendous growth and success by emphasizing engagement.

When I launched Smart As A Fox, it was because I realized there was a real need in the nonprofit and political space for people who know mobile strategy and advocacy. Mobile is currently that “It” technology that everyone wants to start using, but oftentimes they don’t integrate it well into their overall digital strategy. Nonprofits also don’t quite know the best use cases for using peer-to-peer (i.e. Hustle) vs. broadcast mobile (i.e. Mobile Commons). Or they want their organization to use mobile, but don’t know how to get them started.

Take a listen to hear my thoughts on how campaigns and nonprofits should and could be using mobile SMS to achieve their goals.
